“I’ve started to believe a bit more”: Sai Sudharsan

In a sensational display of batting prowess, Gujarat Titans’ opener Sai Sudharsan blazed a destructive century, anchoring his team's chase and propelling them into the Indian Premier League playoffs. His unbroken 205-run partnership with Shubman Gill, who blasted 93, not only secured a commanding 10-wicket victory but also put the side in IPL playoffs.

“It feels great to always contribute and make the team win. There's a bit of joy when you finish games for the team. In the break, which we got, I was thinking on that a bit more,” Sudharsan said after the game.

“To be honest, after six overs, they bowled really well between 7 and 10 overs. The momentum went down a bit. But at that time, we took the game deep, and we weren’t desperate to take a lot of chances. We were cool enough in our mindset to take the game deep. And after 12 overs we got two or three big overs that sealed the game for us. In the previous games, I took chances and got out. But I was aware enough to take the game deep and take my chances against the right match-ups."

Speaking on the learning from the past year, Sudharsan highlighted that the belief has played a key role in his batting.

"I've started to believe a bit more. From my mindset point of view, the belief I have has gotten better to take the game deeper and win games. I've expanded my batting, explored my batting, mentally I'm a bit more free and expressive."
