MI sign Jonny Bairstow, Richard Gleeson and Charith Asalanka as replacements for IPL playoffs

Mumbai Indians (MI) have signed Jonny Bairstow, Richard Gleeson and Charith Asalanka as temporary replacements for Will Jacks, Ryan Rickelton and Corbin Bosch. Bairstow will join MI at a price of INR 5.25 crore, while pacer Gleeson has been roped in at a reserve price of INR 1 crore. Meanwhile, Asalanka joins the side for INR 75 lakhs. The trio will be available for MI during playoffs if MI qualify.

Will Jacks will depart to participate in England’s ODI series against West Indies, while Ryan Rickelton and Corbin Bosch will link up with South Africa squad for their preparations ahead of the upcoming World Test Championship final against Australia, to be played at Lord’s next month. 

Mumbai Indians, who are set to clash with Delhi Capitals in a must-win battle on Wednesday, are eyeing a playoff spot.
