England’s Jofra Archer out of West Indies ODIs

In a big blow to England’s bowling unit, pacer Jofra Archer will miss the upcoming three-match ODI series against West Indies due to a thumb injury. Following Archer’s injury, Luke Wood has been added to England’s ODI squad.

Archer picked up the injury while playing for Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2025 against Kolkatat Knight Riders on May 4. Meanwhile, ECB stated that “He will be reassessed by the England medical team over the next fortnight to determine when he may return to action”.

England squad: Harry Brook (c), Gus Atkinson, Tom Banton, Jacob Bethell, Jos Buttler, Brydon Carse, Ben Duckett, Tom Hartley, Will Jacks, Saqib Mahmood, Jamie Overton, Matthew Potts, Adil Rashid, Joe Root, Jamie Smith, Luke Wood, who is already in the T20I squad. 

ODI series schedule -:

First ODI - (May 29 ) - Edgbaston, Birmingham

Second ODI - (June 1 ) - Sophia Gardens, Cardiff

Third ODI - (June 3) - The Kia Oval, London
