WI batter Matthew Forde equals AB de Villiers' record of fastest ODI fifty

West Indies batter Matthew Forde delivered one of the most explosive innings in ODIs, equalling a record once thought untouchable. Forde brought up his half-century in just 16 balls, matching the legendary AB de Villiers’ record for the fastest ODI half-century. He claimed the record during West Indies’ second ODI against Ireland in Dublin on Friday.
In his whirlwind knock, he slammed 58 off 19, featuring eight sixes and two boundaries. With the help of his masterclass batting, West Indies successfully managed to put up a total of 352/8 in 50 overs. Earlier, middle-order batter Keacy Carty and Shai Hope laid a solid platform with 102 off 109 and 49 from 57 balls, respectively. However, the match had been abandoned later due to a heavy downpour.
