England’s fast-bowling arsenal has got a massive boost after Jofra Archer, who was last seen in a Test back in 2021, has been added to the squad for the second Test against India at Edgbaston, starting 2 July 2025.  Archer hasn’t been seen in a Test for more than four years due to injuries, but his comeback will significantly consolidate England’s bowling attack.

England will head into the second Test on the back of a sensational five-wicket win in the first game. Archer recently returned to competitive cricket, playing for Sussex against Durham.

England squad: Ben Stokes (c), Jofra Archer, Shoaib Bashir, Jacob Bethell, Harry Brook, Brydon Carse, Sam Cook, Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, Jamie Overton, Ollie Pope, Joe Root, Jamie Smith, Josh Tongue, Chris Woakes
