“love watching Rishabh play cricket”: Ben Stokes

England captain Ben Stokes has lauded India’s explosive batter Rishabh Pant for his breathtaking form in the ongoing Test series between India and England. Pant, renowned for his class and insatiable hunger for runs, showcased his fearless ability by hammering back-to-back centuries in the first Test, reaffirming his reputation as one of the most destructive batters.

"Even though he's in opposition, I absolutely love watching Rishabh play cricket. I love the way he takes it on in all formats of the game. He's got a bit of stickiness in his time, but that type of talent, when you let that type of talent be free, that's what can happen in the last week," said Stokes during the press conference.

"Credit to him, two 100s in the game. We know we're going to get our chances with the way that Rishabh plays. So, yeah, it's one of them. On a different day, it could have looked a little bit different. But, yeah, a very dangerous player," Stokes said.

In the first Test, Rishabh Pant scored 134 in the first innings and 118 in the second, leading India’s batting efforts. With the help of his two hundreds, Pant also went past MS Dhoni to become the Indian wicketkeeper-batter with the most hundreds in Test cricket. India, however, lost the game by five wickets. Meanwhile, the second will begin on Wednesday at Edgbaston.
