Pant defies injury to anchor India to 350
In a brave decision to come out and bat, Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant delivered a crucial innings at Old Trafford in the fourth Test against England on Thursday, hitting a crucial 54 runs. After retiring hurt on 37 on Wednesday, suffering a toe injury, Pant shocked everyone by returning to the crease on Thursday. On Wednesday, Pant had to be taken off the field in a medical buggy after he copped a blow on the foot trying to reverse sweep Chris Woakes. He was straight taken for scans.
While there has been no official confirmation, reports have indicated that he has a fracture and that he is out of the final Test. India, meanwhile, have posted a good total of 358, with Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, and Sai Sudharsan scoring 58, 46, and 61 respectively.
