The fourth Test match between India and England at Old Trafford ended in a hard-fought draw following a spirited Indian batting display on day five (Sunday). Indian batters frustrated England, shattering their hopes for a win. Meanwhile, India roared back in style, finishing at 425/4 in their second innings, leaving England without enough time or leverage to force a result.

India’s final day defiance was powered by three masterful centuries from Shubman Gill (103), Ravindra Jadeja (107*), and Washington Sundar (101*). Their innings not only saved the match but also gave India hope to finish the series on a positive note heading into the fifth and final game at The Oval.

Earlier, having been sent in to bat first after England won the toss, India posted a respectable 358 in their first innings. However, that total seemed underwhelming after England’s top-order fired to deliver a commanding 669-run reply. England’s batting dominance was led by Joe Root (150) and Ben Stokes (141). Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett gave the side a rollicking start, hitting 84 and 94, respectively. England are leading the series 2-1, and the fifth match will begin on July 31.
