Indian captain Shubman Gill has heaped praise on his team’s unwavering determination and fighting spirit after they secured a hard-fought draw in the fourth Test against England at Old Trafford. The draw helped India retain a firm grip on the series, with the final day’s play highlighted by standout performances from Shubman Gill, KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar. The turning point of the match was the 188-run partnership between Gill and KL Rahul that put India back into the game. India had, meanwhile, lost openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and B Sai Sudharsan in the very first over.

"From 0 for 2, then the partnership KL bhai and I had, I think that ignited the belief that yes, we can achieve this task. Extremely happy. To be able to get a draw from the position we were in yesterday is extremely satisfying. This innings of mine was the most pleasing to me,” Gill told BCCI.tv.

Down the order, Indian all-rounders Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar kept India in control, smashing their centuries and batting for the rest of the day. England, on the other hand, tried everything, rotating bowlers and attacking fields, but the Indian duo weathered the storm. England, however, are leading the series 2-1, and the fifth and final game is scheduled to begin on Thursday at The Oval.
