Adam Zampa pulled up by ICC for breaching Code of Conduct

Australian spinner Adam Zampa was found guilty of breaching the ICC's code of conduct after he was caught on stump mic using inappropriate language during the 37th over of the Proteas' innings. One demerit point was added to Zampa’s disciplinary record for breaching Article 2.3 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to “use of an audible obscenity during an International Match.” It is the first offence by Zampa in the last 24-month period. He admitted the breach and accepted sanctions as proposed by match referee Andy Pycroft.
"Level 1 breaches carry a minimum penalty of an official reprimand, a maximum penalty of 50 per cent of a player’s match fee, and one or two demerit points," an ICC statement read.
Meanwhile, Australia lost the first match by 98 runs to go 0-1 down in the series. The second ODI will be played on Friday as Australia look to bounce back in the series.
