Asif Ali calls time on international career

Pakistan batter Asif Ali has called time on his international career. Asif, who made his debut in 2018, represented Pakistan in 21 ODIs and 58 T20Is, accumulating 959 runs. In T20Is, he scored 577 runs with a top score of 41. While, in ODIs, he scored 382 runs.

“Today, I announce my retirement from international cricket,” Asif Ali stated in a social media post.

“Wearing the Pakistan jersey has been the greatest honour of my life and serving my country on the cricket field has been my proudest chapter."

“To my family and friends, who stood with me in moments of joy and in the deepest of trials, including the loss of my beloved daughter during the World Cup, your strength carried me forward.”

Asif Ali, meanwhile, confirmed that he will continue to play domestic cricket and in franchise leagues across the world. He made his last appearance for Pakistan at the 2023 Asian Games.
