"There’s no need to say anything": Kapil Dev to Indian players ahead of IND vs PAK Asia Cup clash

With the blockbuster Asia Cup showdown between arch rivals India and Pakistan set to be held on Sunday at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai, there is huge excitement surrounding the much-awaited clash. The face-off is going to be the biggest group stage match of the Asia Cup, with both teams keeping their spirits high ahead of the intense battle.

India, who got off to a dominant start, have already channelled their ruthlessness, sealing a nine-wicket win in their match against UAE. India skittled UAE for 57 runs in 13.1 overs before reaching the target in just 4.3 overs.

Meanwhile, ahead of the India-Pakistan match, former Indian captain Kapil Dev has urged the players to focus on the game.

“Just go and win. Those whose job is to play should just focus on playing – there’s no need to say anything else. Don’t make this a big issue. The government will do its job, and the players should do theirs,” — Kapil said.

This would be the first meeting between India and Pakistan following the escalating conflict between both nations earlier this year in the wake of the Pahalgam attack. Notably, India and Pakistan do not play bilateral cricket and only meet in world tournaments such as the Asia Cup, World Cups, and ICC events.
