Rishabh Pant is set to resume training at BCCI’s Centre of Excellence after an injury layoff. According to ESPNcricinfo, Pant has joined the BCCI's Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru to begin his rehabilitation. Pant has been on the sidelines following a foot injury copped during the Old Trafford Test against England. The injury had forced Pant to miss the remainder of that match.

In his absence, Dhruv Jurel kept the wicket in that game and the final Test at the Oval. And N Jagadeesan had been called as backup. Notably, India are set to host West Indies in a two-match Test series in October and Pant is their first-choice wicketkeeper-batter.

If Pant does not recover in time, then India are expected to retain both Dhruv Jurel and N. Jagadeesan. Meanwhile, according to the report, Pant has been walking comfortably without the cast.
