About Max ODowd
A New Zealander by origin, Max O'Dowd also did a major part of his schooling in Auckland. By virtue of his mother being a Dutch, Max gained the Netherlands passport which eventually enabled him to represent the country in international cricket. An ultra-aggressive batsman who prefers to bat at the top of the order, Max's batting style is best suited for the shortest format of the game. Not surprising then, that he's played more T20 cricket than other formats. However, Max has had a superb start to his ODI career that started only in 2019. With two fifties in as many innings, the opener has had a great start but there is a long way to go before he can cement his spot in 50-over cricket. He also has two First-class centuries in his brief career so far. With Netherlands not a full-member nation yet in international cricket. Max will have limited opportunities to shine. Nevertheless, he is a promising prospect. It shall also be interesting to see if he pursues playing for New Zealand.
