Australia's exceptionally talented bowler Mitchell Starc will be making his way back into the India's cash-rich league Indian Premier League (IPL) next year. A period of almost eight years has gone by since he last marked his presence in the league. It's always been seen that Starc has kept International Cricket at priority against leagues. But this time he is looking forward to playing IPL in order to amplify his preparations for the T20I World Cup 2024.

"Look it's been eight years. I'm definitely going back in [next] year. Amongst other things, it's a great lead-up to the T20 World Cup," Starc told Willow Talk Cricket Podcast .

"So it's a good opportunity to see if anyone's interested in the IPL, then lead into the T20 World Cup. And it is somewhat of a quiet winter next year...in comparison to this winter, so I think it's a perfect opportunity to put my name in," he stated.

Starc has played two seasons of the IPL which was back in 2014 and 2015 as he played for Royal Challenges Bangalore (RCB). In 2018, Starc was signed by Kolkata knight Riders (KKR) but he pulled out due to Injury. Meanwhile, one of Starc's foremost aims remains to feature in the 100 Tests for Australia, a record that has been held by Australian great Glenn McGrath.

"Not just get to 100, I'd like to be good enough to be picked for 100 Tests. And then the big one obviously in a couple of weeks is the World Cup, which in India just goes to another level," said Starc.
