ENG vs NZ 1st ODI: Daryl Mitchell and Devon Conway’s centuries make way for NZ’s comprehensive victory

Heavy hitters Daryl Mitchell and Devon Conway played big knocks containing centuries to help New Zealand register an eight-wicket victory against England in the first ODI on Friday at Sophia Gardens. Talking about the match, put into bat, England saw some thrilling performances from their batters Dawid Malan (54), Jos Buttler (72), Ben Stokes (52), and Liam Livingstone (52), coming up with their half-centuries to take the side to the total of (291/6) in (50) overs. It was the biggest positive for England to see Ben Stokes notch up his half-century on his return to ODIs after reversing his retirement decision.
Chasing the target, Devon Conway started off well for New Zealand with his century (111*). New Zealand, however, lost middle-order batters Will Young (29) and Henry Nicholls (26) early but Daryl Mitchell alongside Devon Conway (118*) handled the proceedings very well to take the team to the victory.
