Asian Games Women: Indian Women team move to the semi-final

Indian Women’s match against Malaysia Women in the ongoing Women’s Asian Games was abandoned due to rain on Thursday. This was the Quarter Final 1 which was abandoned without any result after rained interrupted the proceedings. Put into bat, India had scored (173) runs in the rain-curtailed 15-over game. Shafali Verma and Jemimah Rodrigues scored (67) and (47*) respectively to take the team to the higher total. Earlier, skipper Smriti Mandhana started off positively with her 27-run score. Chasing the target of (174), Malaysia Women were 1/0 in 0.2 overs when rain halted the proceedings as they couldn’t resume due to rain. Team India, however, made it to the semi-final due to having higher ranking.
