Adam Zampa on Pat Cummins
The initial back-to-back defeats pushed Australia into a precarious situation in the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023 but Australia seem to have bounced back into the ODI World Cup 2023 with their first victory as they beat Sri Lanka on Monday to find necessary confidence in their performance. Being touted as one of the favourites to lift the trophy, Australia went through a lot in the beginning of the tournament after their consecutive defeats against India and South Africa respectively. Australia’s win against Sri Lanka have put them back into the tournament with the new vigour and determination. Australian skipper Pat Cummins, in the wake of Australia’s two defeats, attracted some pushback but to silence the critics, Pat Cummins returned with a great performance. Speaking on Pat, Adam Zampa said that players back each other and he doesn’t know what people are reading.
“We all back each other 100 percent in this team, so I don’t really know what’s been said or what people are reading, but the only thing that I saw come on the WhatsApp group was the same 11 as last time. So yeah, there’s no pressure on Pat there,” Adam Zampa said during the press conference.
Zampa was one of the stars in Australia’s win over Sri Lanka with his four wickets from his eight overs after leaking (47) runs. Pat Cummins too showed his worth by returning with two wickets from his seven overs after giving away (32) runs. Australia had bowled out Sri Lanka for (209) in (43.3) overs as Sri Lanka had batted first after winning the toss. Australia, meanwhile, had chased down the total in (35.2) overs.
