News

After leading Gujarat Titans for their inaugural title victory, Hardik Pandya is all slated to get back to his erstwhile franchise Mumbai Indians ahead of the IPL 2024 auction in December. Hardik Pandya is one of the most terrific all-rounders for India as he also leads the team in T20Is. But, the most noted development doing the round is that Hardik Pandya could say goodbye to Gujarat Titans and join his former franchise Mumbai Indians. Hardik Pandya started his IPL journey with Mumbai Indians in 2015 before moving to Gujarat Titans in 2022. As per a report in ESPNCricinfo, Hardik Pandya is set to reunite with his former franchise Mumbai Indians in what could be an all-cash deal. Mumbai Indians are set to pay the complete amount of Pandya’s salary and an undisclosed transfer to Gujarat Titans. Hardik Pandya is also likely to pocket half of the transfer fee. So far, both the franchises are tight-lipped about the deal. Hardik Pandya's salary is around 15 crore. If the deal has to happen then MI have to have 15 crore in their purse but as of now, all ten teams will have 5 crore for the upcoming auction. In order to get 10 crore more, MI will need to release some of their players to fetch Hardik and strike the deal.

Hardik Pandya recently was seen in action for India during the World Cup but his ankle injury put him out of India’s World Cup campaign. As of now, Pandya is recuperating from an ankle injury that he picked up during India’s World Cup match against Bangladesh. Hardik Pandya’s journey with Gujarat Titans was incredibly fruitful as he led the team to title victory in their debut IPL season in 2022. In 2023, he led the team to the final where the team lost to Chennai Super Kings.
