India hope to continue with the same intensity under Suryakumar Yadav
India made a great start to their five-match T20I series against Australia with their three-wicket win in the first match on Thursday in Visakhapatnam. India took the 1-0 lead in the five-match series by edging out Australia in the first game by three wickets in a high-scoring game wherein India had successfully completed their highest run-chase in T20Is. India’s performance in the bowling department had remained in a complete disarray in the first match with bowlers being way more expensive. Australia had been brilliant in their batting order with Josh Inglis and Steve Smith being the top-scorer for the team with their century and half-century knocks respectively. Both India and Australia are now scheduled to meet on Sunday for the second match at Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram . In the first match, Prasidh Krishna and Arshdeep Singh had gone for 50 and 41 runs respectively from their four overs each in the pace department. While, Ravi Bishnoi had leaked 54 runs from his 4 overs in the spin department.
It will be incredibly significant for Indian bowlers to find their consistency and rhythm to make their bigger impact with the ball. Mukesh Kumar seemed to be well in his control in his bowling attack with only 29 runs coming from his four overs. Bishnoi would look to find his way back with the ball after being struck repeatedly by Australian batters for boundaries. Having a glance at India’s batting, they can’t complain enough about that with Suryakumar Yadav, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ishan Kishan and Rinku Singh being into their elements. Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan played superb knocks of 80 and 58 respectively in the first match that had brought India back on track. Rinku Singh meanwhile played a key knock of 22 unbeaten to take the team over the line. Australia, however, had produced a remarkable performance but their bowling efforts could not be as effective as their batting which led them to suffer a disappointing defeat. Australia would hope to build on to the last match’s performance to make their way back into the series.
India Probable XI: Ruturaj Gaikwad, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ishan Kishan (wk), Suryakumar Yadav (c), Tilak Varma, Rinku Singh, Axar Patel, Washington Sundar, Arshdeep Singh, Mukesh Kumar, Prasidh Krishna
Australia Probable XI: Matthew Short, Steven Smith, Josh Inglis, Aaron Hardie, Glenn Maxwell, Tim David, Matthew Wade (c & wk), Sean Abbott, Nathan Ellis, Jason Behrendorff, Tanveer Sangha
