IND vs AUS 2nd T20I: India thrash Australia, take 2-0 lead

In the second T20I match of the ongoing five-match series between India and Australia here in Thiruvananthapuram on Sunday, India beat Australia by 44 runs to lead the five-match series 2-0. India restricted Australia to 191/9 in 20 overs in their chase of a 235-run total put up by India after being put into bat by Australian skipper Matthew Wade. For India, Ravi Bishnoi and Prasidh Krishna returned with the figures of 3 wickets each while Arshdeep Singh, Axar Patel and Mukesh Kumar returned with one wicket each. For Australia, Steve Smith (19) and Matthew Short (19) gave Australia a great start but their wickets put Australia on the back foot, moreover the wickets of Josh Inglis (2) and Glenn Maxwell (12) compounded the problems for Australia. However, Tim David and Marcus Stoinis brought the situation under control with their fiery knocks of (37) and (45) but it couldnāt be enough as Australia continued to lose their wickets at regular intervals. Earlier, India had scored huge 235 on the back of three half-centuries smashed by Yashasvi Jaiswal (53), Ruturaj Gaikwad (58) and Ishan Kishan (52). There was also a quick scoring from Rinku Singh who scored 31 off 9.
