BAN vs NZ 1st Test day 5: Bangladesh trounce New Zealand

Bangladesh thrashed New Zealand by huge 150 runs in the first Test match of the two-match series on Saturday at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. Taijul Islma claimed six-wicket haul to cripple New Zealand’s chase of a massive 332-run target. Daryl Mitchell top-scored for New Zealand with his 58-run knock as they were bowled out for 181 in their pursuit of 332. On day five, on Saturday, New Zealand resumed their innings from their overnight score of 113/7 but they lost their three wickets in the first session itself. Earlier, Bangladesh had decided to bat after winning the toss where they scored 310 runs in their first innings. New Zealand, in their first innings, had scored 317 runs. Bangladesh, in their second innings had been moved to 338 with the help of a century coming in from Najmul Hossain Shanto (104). With this win, Bangladesh have taken 1-0 lead in the two-match series.
