South African veteran Dean Elgar is set to say goodbye to International cricket after the ongoing Test series against India. And, this series for Dean Elgar is turning out to be one of the resounding ones as he’s completely been on the bang with his batting. Dean Elgar brought up his 14th Test hundred to stand tall to get South Africa on top. On day second (Wednesday), Dean Elgar remained unbeaten on (140) to keep proteas in a firm position. Dean Elgar’s contribution remained invaluable as it came at a right time, he fought back hard maintaining calmness at the same time. During the press conference after second day’s game, Dean Elgar was asked whether he had a point to prove.

“I don’t think I have a point to prove. I just want to still contribute. I want to go out with a bang, and try and win a Test match and the series. That’s ultimately the standard I’ve set myself for the series. There’s no turning back now. I don’t have anything to lose. Whether I fail or not, it Is still coming to an end,” said Dean Elgar.

Dean Elgar expressed his happiness for the powerful knock he hammered in front of his family and in the last match of his career. it was a special knock as it was his first hundred at Centurion.

“It’s a special game for me. I didn’t have a Test hundred at Centurion - that’s the one that got away throughout my career.” My family was here, my friends were here watching,  knocking this is the last international fixture I will play here. So, it was a whole combination of that. I’m happy to be on the board. I am now on the at all the Test venues in South Africa, which is pretty cool,” he said.
