SL vs ZIM 3rd ODI: Zimbabwe hope to gain more momentum to resist sturdy Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe will clash in the third One Day International (ODI) on Thursday at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Sri Lanka are leading the three-match series 1-0 after winning the second game. The first match of the series was unfortunately washed out due to persistent rain, setting the stage for an even more crucial encounter in the second ODI.
In the initial encounter, rain played spoilsport, leaving both teams without an opportunity to showcase their skills. With the first match abandoned, the teams were eager to make amends in the following games. The second ODI witnessed Sri Lanka dominating the proceedings, securing a hard-fought victory and taking the lead in the series in a high-voltage game.
Zimbabwe, in the second game, fought hard to stay in contention, but Sri Lanka kept the upper hand. Skipper Craig Ervine shone in the batting order with his 82-run knock, while in the bowling attack Richard Ngarva returned with five wickets. The players exhibited brilliant performance, attempting to counter the Sri Lankan challenge.
Heading into the third and final game, both teams will be determined to win the match to make their gains. For Sri Lanka, winning the third match will get them the trophy, whereas, for Zimbabwe, winning the third match will help them level the series 1-1. Undoubtedly, the battle is going to be quite intense between both teams.
