India name squad for South Africa Tests, Rishabh Pant earns recall
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a 15-member squad for the two-match Test series at home against South Africa, with Rishabh Pant marking his return to Test cricket after injury. Pant injured his foot in the England series and missed the recent home Test series against West Indies.
However, he proved his fitness by scoring 90 for India A against South Africa A, earning a recall. Shubman Gill will lead the side, and Pant will serve as his deputy.
Pacer Akash Deep also makes his return to the side after missing the Test series against West Indies following an injury. The first Test of the two-match series will be played at Eden Gardens in Kolkata from November 14 to 18. And the second Test will begin in Guwahati from November 22.
