BBL 2023-24: Warner against Smith as Sydney Thunder meet Sydney Sixers
In one of the most wonderful clashes of the ongoing Big Bash League, Sydney Sixers will be squaring off against Sydney Thunder on Friday at Sydney Cricket Ground in Sydney. The mega clash will see Steve Smith and David Warner coming against each other. Sydney Sixers are placed third in the points table with four wins out of eight games. They have lost two games while two of their games have ended in no result.
Sydney Sixers, all in all, have led a good campaign. Going into this game, they would look for a win to move to the second place in the points table. Sixers will be further solidified with the availability of Steve Smith and would hope for him to continue with the same rhythm and intensity.
Sydney Thunder, on the other hand, have had a disappointing campaign so far with one victory from their past seven games. They have suffered five defeats while one of their games ended in no result. They only have 1 point followed by the negative NRR of -0.433.
Sydney Thunder stand no chance to make it to the final, but they would look forward to delivering with good performance heading into this game. Thunder will have the return of David Warner as he is scheduled to fly via a helicopter straight from his brother’s wedding. Their player Tom Curran has been ruled out of the season due to knee injury.
