Jaiswal pulls off his second Test hundred

India’s young star Yashasvi Jaiswal scored his gutsy hundred to help India put the pressure back on England on the first day of the second Test on Friday in Visakhapatnam. This was Jaiswal’s second Test hundred, first at home. Jaiswal reached the three-figure mark in a unique style while pulling off a huge six off Tom Hartley.
Jaiswal fought back England batters while cracking his hundred off 151 balls. Jaiswal put on a heck of show, maintaining excellent composure at the same time to rip through England’s formidable spin attack.
Despite seeing other batters losing their wickets at regular intervals, Jaiswal remained focused to ensure India’s smooth scoring.
Indian skipper Rohit Sharma, who opted to bat after winning the toss, failed to give the team an authoritative start, losing his wicket for (14). Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer also failed to fire up, departing for the scores of (34) and (27) respectively.
During the first session, the pitch offered assistance to both batters and bowlers, but Jaiswal remained adapted to the conditions, braving England’s spin prowess.
