Fakhar Zaman being examined after suffering injury scare

In a bad development for Pakistan, star batter Fakhar Zaman walked off the field after two deliveries during the opening match of the Champions Trophy between New Zealand and Pakistan in Karachi on Wednesday. Zaman appeared to be in extreme discomfort after he dived to stop the ball from touching the boundary ropes.
New Zealand opener Will Young drove Shaheen Afridi through the covers and Fakhar Zaman, who was staring at mid-off, tried to stop the ball. During the process, he fell and felt discomfort, forcing him to leave the field. This has come as a bad start for Pakistan given Fakhar Zamanās ability to anchor the innings.
"Fakhar Zaman is being assessed and examined for a muscular sprain and further updates will be provided in due course," the PCB said in a statement.
