Big guns return with Australia naming T20I squad for New Zealand series
Australia have named their star-studded squad for their three-match T20I series against New Zealand, scheduled to be played this month from February 21st. This is clearly an indication from Australia having ramped up their preparations for the upcoming T20I World Cup in June.
This series will also be the only series that Australia will be playing ahead of the T20I World Cup 2024. Australia have brought in their leading pacers Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood to the proceedings. Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis and Matthew Wade have also made their cut into the squad.
There too has been the inclusion of Mitchell Marsh and Steve Smith to the squad. Notably, Mitchell Marsh is scheduled to lead the side despite Pat Cummins being added to the squad. The first T20I will be played on 21st February followed by second and third on 23rd and 25th February respectively.
