India’s fierce left-handed batter Rishabh Pant is set to return to action for the first time since suffering grave injuries after being involved in the horrifying car crash incident in December 2022. Pant will be making his comeback to cricket in the upcoming Indian Premier League 2024, leading Delhi Capitals.

Pant has put in a lot of hard work on his road to recovery which was filled with arduous times, requiring multiple surgeries. During his rehabilitation period, Rishabh Pant missed high-profile tournaments such as Asia Cup, World Test Championship and ODI World Cup. Finally, Pant will be announcing his presence in the IPL, solidiying his team that remained in a precarious situation last year.

In Pant’s absence, Delhi Capitals were led by David Warner at the IPL 2023, but Pant's return this year would serve as a huge consolidation for the team. Delhi Capitals’ Director of Cricket Sourav Ganguly has said that Pant’s return would be a huge boost for Delhi Capitals.

"It's a huge boost for Delhi Capitals because Indian players are gold in the IPL. Obviously, he has not played much cricket and I hope he gets back to rhythm very quickly. It's been a while he is away from competitive cricket, almost 17-18 months. He has worked very hard to make a comeback. He is confident and wants to play for Delhi Capitals and India. I am extremely happy he is back and hope he gets through the season," Ganguly told Revsportz.

Delhi Capitals had a forgettable season last year, languishing at the second spot from bottom in the points table with five victories out of 14 games. Heading into the IPL this season, Delhi Capitals have roped in the likes of Harry Brooks, Shai Hope and Raging Tristan Stubbs.  Pant was also present at the IPL Auction 2024 which was held in Dubai.
