IPL 2024: Unbeaten KKR thump inconsistent RCB
Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s unbalanced campaign at the Indian Premier League continues as they slumped to their another defeat after being beaten by Kolkata Knight Riders by seven wickets in the tenth match of the league on Friday at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
Despite Kohli’s blistering 83-run knock, which dragged the side to a defendable total of 182/6 in (20) overs, RCB bowlers didn’t seem to be up to the task, giving KKR openers free hand to have a brisk start.
KKR openers Phil Salt and veteran Sunil Narine, playing his 500th T20 match, guided the team to a resolute start, with Venkatesh Iyer and skipper Shreyas Iyer making a union down the order to hammer 30-ball 50 and 24-ball 39 respectively, thereby leading the team across the line with (19) balls and seven wickets to spare.
This is KKR’s second successive victory, however, their most expensive player Mitchell Starc is yet to open his account of wickets, having remained wicketless in the last two games. In the game against RCB, Starc gave away (47) runs from his four overs, remaining incredibly unsuccessful in showing his prowess.
