Same old issues haunted Royal Challengers Bengaluru, when their top order tumbled in front of Lucknow Super Giants’ top-of-the-line bowling attack led by pace ace Mayank Yadav, as they suffered their another loss in the ongoing Indian Premier League on Tuesday at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. Mayank Yadav gathered three key wickets, guiding his team to a 28-run win and bagging his second straight player of the match award.

Recording a fiery start, Lucknow Super Giants put up 181/5 after being asked to bat. Key scorers Quinton de Kock (81) and Nichlas Pooran (40*) made a great impact in powering LSG to a fighting total. Marcus Stoinis with his little cameo made a contribution of (24) runs.

In their chase, RCB openers Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis made a spirited start, adding (40*) off (26) deliveries. But, Mayank Yadav, continuing with his rhythm from previous game where he bowled the fastest delivery of IPL 2024, made an instant impact. Virat Kohli was gone for (22) after being caught by Devdutt Padikkal off M Siddharth.

Soon, Faf du Plessis followed him after being run out by Devdutt Padikkal. Glenn Maxwell and Cameron Green were out for (0) and (9) respectively. RCB’s impact player Mahipal Lomror hammered quick (33) off (13), but by that time the game had slipped through their hands as they were restricted to (153) in (19.4) overs.
