IND vs BAN 2nd Test Day 1: Rain forces early stumps
The second and final Test match between India and Bangladesh commenced in Kanpur on Friday, but weather conditions played a significant role in the day's proceedings. Rain interruptions caused an early call for stumps, limiting the play on day 1.
Earlier, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted to bowl first, a decision that proved to be fruitful with Indian bowlers Akash Deep and Ravichandaran Ashwin claiming two and one wicket respectively. At the time play was stopped, Bangladesh were 107/3. After losing early wickets, Bangladesh’s innings was built by Mominul Haque, who was unbeaten on 40.
On day two (Saturday), Bangladesh would hope to pile up a huge total to create early dominance over India. They will look to build a solid foundation and recover from the early setbacks. Indian bowlers, on the other hand, would target early wickets to apply more pressure on Bangladesh.
