Afghanistan name T20I WC squad, Rashid named captain
Afghanistan have announced their T20I World Cup squad, with all-round maestro Rashid Khan slated to lead the well-crafted squad at the upcoming T20I World Cup 2024 that is to be played in West Indies and USA from June 1.
The squad is packed with incredibly experienced players. The likes of Noor Ahmad, Mohammad Nabi and Mujeeb Ur Rahman have been included in the squad. Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Ibrahim Zadran and Najibullah Zadran are the wicketkeeper-batters.
Azmatullah Omarzai, Gulbadin Naib and Karim Janat are the allrounders in the team. Mohammad Ishaq, who was in Afghanistan’s squad for the U19 Men’s Cricket World Cups in 2020 and 2022, has been given a spot in the squad. Afghanistan’s fast-bowling attack will see the likes of Naveen-ul-Haq, Fazalhaq Farooqi and Fareed Ahmad leading the charge.
