"Sunrisers should back their batting first approach” Suresh Raina

Indian Premier League 2024 final is just few hours away, with Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad gearing up to battle is out against each other at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. It’s been a smooth sailing for Kolkata Knight Riders, who qualified into the final of the IPL on the back of their comfortable victories, but Sunrisers Hyderabad had to fight their way through to the final, while experiencing setbacks at regular intervals as well.
Largely, SRH have banked a lot on their batting approach that has been quite attacking, with Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma and Heinrich Klaasen being the mainstay. As the countdown to the final begins, both captains will have to take a big decision at the toss whether to bat first or bowl first. Meanwhile, former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina had a suggestion for SRH.
Raina noted that SRH should back their batting first approach. Throughout the whole tournament, SRH have been the most destructive side, having shattered many IPL records. Seeing their impressive batting, Raina has backed SRH to adopt their batting first approach.
"Sunrisers should back their batting first approach and put runs on the board, but the eight overs of spin will be crucial. With KKR having won an IPL in Chennai, the pressure will be different. The key point for SRH is Pat Cummins who has already won the World Cup, he knows how to keep the dressing room running. You follow the process, you are switched on for the finals, the players know their roles, and everything will be organized," Raina said while speaking to JioCinema.
