Team India are just few days away from kicking off their T20I World Cup campaign as they will take on Ireland on June 5th in their first match of the tournament. But, before starting their World Cup campaign officially, team India will be playing against Bangladesh in their only warm-up game on June 1.

Indian players recently arrived in New York to start their preparations for the mega event. Indian batter Virat Kohli hasn’t reached New York yet as he was recently spotted in Mumbai alongside wife Anushka Sharma. Indian players were also involved in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 with their commitments to their respective teams.

However, they started to fly out of India as soon as their teams were eliminated. Ahead of the warm-up game, India’s strength and conditioning coach Sonam Desai provided glimpses into India’s preparations for the World Cup.

“We came in day before yesterday and we just eased into our routines here, the idea was to just get used to the time zone," Desai said in a video posted by the BCCI on social media.

"We've not yet played cricket. We've come here for a team activity today. Hopefully it will be good. The weather is really good. So looking forward to it,” Jasprit Bumrah said.

"They have been away for two-and-a-half months from us. Just getting them together to know where they stand, what needs to be done before the World Cup was the goal," Desai said.

"We want to see them move. We want to see them run so that we can put enough plans in place for each guy to be ready for the first game,” Desai further said.

Ravindra Jadeja expressed his excitement to play cricket in New York. And Suryakumar Yadav was also excited to play in the US over the next few days.

"First time we gonna play cricket in New York, it's gonna be fun," Jadeja said.

"I heard the cricket is growing here in the US, so we are really excited and the first day here was amazing, so very excited for the few days coming up," Suryakumar Yadav said.
