In a highly anticipated showdown at the T20I World Cup 2024 final, India won the toss and elected to bat first against South Africa on Saturday at Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados.

South Africa, who have been unbeaten so far in the tournament would look to leverage the conditions with their massively disciplined bowling attack, while India would hope to capitalise on the conditions and put up a huge total.

The final showdown represents a significant opportunity for South Africa, as they are in pursuit of their maiden World Cup title, having qualified into the final for the first time. The Proteas have come close on several occasions but have failed to make it all the way.

On the other side, India are looking to break a 13-year ICC title drought and win the title for the second time. The Men in Blue, led by Rohit Sharma, will be determined to keep their momentum going and come out victorious. India's last ICC triumph came in the form of the 2011 ODI World Cup, and since then, they have been on a quest to capture another major title.

India: Rohit Sharma(c), Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant(w), Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Shivam Dube, Axar Patel, Arshdeep Singh, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah

South Africa: Quinton de Kock(w), Reeza Hendricks, Aiden Markram(c), Tristan Stubbs, Heinrich Klaasen, David Miller, Marco Jansen, Keshav Maharaj, Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje, Tabraiz Shamsi
