Dinesh Karthik named RCB’s new batting coach and mentor

Former Indian and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik has been appointed as the new batting coach and mentor at the RCB. Karthik had announced his retirement from all forms of cricket at the end of the IPL 2024. Dinesh Karthik had an amazing season with RCB at the IPL 2024, amassing 326 runs at a strike rate of 187.36.
“Welcome our keeper in every sense, Dinesh Karthik, back into RCB in an all new avatar. DK will be the Batting Coach and Mentor of RCB Men’s team! You can take the man out of cricket but not cricket out of the man! 🙌 Shower him with all the love, 12th Man Army! ❤️," the RCB franchise mentioned on X.
In his IPL career, Dinesh Karthik had his journey with several franchises, playing for Kolkata Knight Riders, Mumbai Indians, Delhi Daredevils (Now Capitals), and Kings XI Punjab (Now Punjab Kings). With team India, Karthik had a fruitful journey across all three formats, playing 94 ODIs, 60 T20Is and 26 Test matches. In ODIs, Karthik belted 1,792 runs, including nine half-centuries. In T20Is, he scored 686 runs and in Tests, Karthik scored 1,025 runs.
