Team India gets rousing welcome upon their arrival in Delhi after T20I World Cup Victory
After an unexpected delay due to monstrous hurricane Beryl in Barbados, Indian cricket team has finally returned home, bringing with them the T20I World Cup title that they clinched after trouncing South Africa in the final of the T20I World Cup last week on Saturday.
Team India, which was stranded for three days in Barbados due to hurricane Beryl ripping through the Caribbean, landed in India on a special flight arranged by Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Upon their arrival in Delhi, they were met with a rousing welcome. Hundreds of fans holding placards gathered at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi to congratulate the team and their favourite players.
Team India is also scheduled to meet Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence in Delhi. Later in the day, team will fly to Mumbai to take part in a grand roadshow. The roadshow will feature a parade that will culminate at the Wankhede Stadium.
