Zimbabwe name Charl Langeveldt as bowling coach
Former South African pacer Charl Langeveldt has been appointed bowling coach of the Zimbabwe men’s national cricket team. The appointment of Charl Langeveldt comes a day prior to Zimbabwe’s first T20I match against India on July 6. Zimbabwe and India will be playing a five-match T20I series.
Langeveldt’s most recent coaching stint was with Afghanistan that came to an end after the ODI World Cup. He has also been the part of South Africa and Bangladesh’s coaching staffs. Earlier, Zimbabwe had also made appointments of Justin Sammons as head coach and Dion Ebrahim as the batting coach.
The appointment was given nod by the Mhishi Committee, which was set up to look into the team’s failure to qualify for the T20I World Cup 2024 that was recently played in USA and West Indies. Charl Langeveldt’s first assignment at hand is the five-match T20I series against India.
