Warner open to playing for Australia at Champions Trophy

Former Australian opener David Warner has kept the door ajar to play for Australia at the Champions Trophy 2025, despite having bowed out of international cricket. David Warner, who announced his international retirement in phases, is looking to make himself available for Australia at next year’s Champions Trophy. 

Earlier this year in January, Warner retired from Test cricket, simultaneously he also announced that ODI World Cup 2023 played in India was his last assignment in ODI format. And his T20 international career ended at the T20I World Cup 2024 where Australia failed to make it through. 

"I will continue to play franchise cricket for a while, and I am also open to playing for [Australia] in the Champions Trophy if selected," Warner wrote in his Instagram post. 

In his 161 ODI games, David Warner has amassed 6932 runs at an average of 45.30 and a strike rate of 97.3. He has 22 centuries and 33 half-centuries
