Women’s Asia Cup 2024: India Women march into the semi-final, secure a commanding win over Nepal

Indian Women team marched into the semi-final of the ongoing Women’s Asia Cup 2024 on the back of a dominating victory against Nepal on Tuesday at Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium, Dambulla. India raced to a massive 82-run victory after an all-round show put Nepal on the backfoot.
Deciding to bat, India got off to a commanding start with opener Shafali Verma and Dayalan Hemalatha firing on all cylinders and scoring (81) and (47) respectively. Their scoring put India on course for a big total. Down the order, Jemimah Rodrigues remained unbeaten, scoring 28 to help India reach 178/3 in 20 overs.
Shafali Verma was the standout performer, scoring an impressive 81 runs, contributing bigly to lead India to a formidable total of 178 in their 20 overs. Later, Indian bowlers dominated the proceedings, restricting Nepal to 96/9, in 20 overs, thus securing a comprehensive win and demonstrating their prowess in the tournament. Deepti Sharma took three wickets, while Arundhati Reddy and Radha Yadav claimed two wickets each.
