SL vs IND 2nd T20I: India seal series win, destroy Sri Lanka
In an exhilarating encounter in the second T20I of the three-match series, Indian spinners again showcased their prowess by helping India thrash Sri Lanka by seven wickets (DLS) to secure a series-clinching win on Sunday at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, Pallekele.
Put into bat first, Sri Lanka managed to post a respectable total of 161 for 9 in their 20 overs. Their innings saw some impressive knocks from Pathum Nissanka and Kusal Mendis, who both scored (32) and (53) to take the side to a fighting total. However, their middle-order again failed to deliver after Indian spinners Ravi Bishnoi and Axar Patel came together to dismantle it, taking three and two wickets each respectively. After losing wickets at regular intervals, Sri Lanka's momentum was completely halted.
Meanwhile, rain had disrupted the proceedings, forcing a revision of the target. According to DLS method, India were set a revised target of 78 runs to chase down in 8 overs. India, on the other hand, chased down the target in just 6.3 overs, securing a decisive victory. Opener Yashasvi Jaiswal started the batting brilliantly, scoring (30). While, Suryakumar Yadav delivered a spectacular performance making (26 off 12). Hardik Pandya, down the order, remained unbeaten on (22 off 9) to take the team to victory.
