Dhoni speaks on his future in IPL

During the IPL 2024, rumours were rife that MS Dhoni was on the brink of announcing his retirement from the league. However, much to the relief of his fans, no such announcement was made by legendary cricketer at the conclusion of the IPL 2024. Instead, MS Dhoni has chosen to keep mum on his future in IPL.
Recently, at an event, Dhoni was asked about his IPL future, to which Dhoni stated that he would wait and see what decision is made regarding player retention.
"There is a lot of time for it. We have to see what decision they take on player retention etc. Right now, the ball is not in our court,” Dhoni said.
"So, once the rules and regulations get formalised, I will take a call, but needs to be in the best interest of the team."
The speculation about Dhoni’s retirement during IPL 2024 was fuelled after he decided to hand over the reins to fellow teammate Ruturaj Gaikwad ahead of the start of IPL 2024. Over the years, Dhoni has been a game-changer for Chennai Super Kings, having led the team to five title victories.
