Veteran stars Moeen Ali and Jonny Bairstow have been overlooked for England’s ODI and T20I squads, set to square off against Australia next month. The new-look squads have few new faces as there is no place either for Chris Woakes and Chris Jordan. Five uncapped players have been named in England’s squads.

The squads are the first since Matthew Mott’s sacking as England’s limited-overs coach. England had horrible campaigns at the ODI World Cup 2023 and T20I World Cup 2024, being eliminated early on in both events. Explosive batter Liam Livingstone has been left out of ODIs, but finds himself in T20I squad.

England T20I squad: Jos Buttler (c), Jofra Archer, Jacob Bethell, Brydon Carse, Jordan Cox, Sam Curran, Josh Hull, Will Jacks, Liam Livingstone, Saqib Mahmood, Dan Mousley, Adil Rashid, Phil Salt, Reece Topley, John Turner

England ODI squad: Jos Buttler (c), Jofra Archer, Gus Atkinson, Jacob Bethell, Harry Brook, Brydon Carse, Ben Duckett, Josh Hull, Will Jacks, Matthew Potts, Adil Rashid, Phil Salt, Jamie Smith, Reece Topley, John Turner
