Worrying development for India ahead of Bangladesh Tests, star batter suffers injury
In a worrying development for India, batter Suryakumar Yadav has reportedly suffered a hand injury while fielding during the Buchi Babu Invitational tournament. The injury has occurred at a time when Suryakumar Yadav is hoping to make his return to Indian Test team. The injury also comes just days ahead of the beginning of Duleep Trophy.
Yadav was playing for Mumbai in the ongoing Buchi Babu Trophy, but failed to bat in Mumbai’s second innings due to the injury. Suryakumar Yadav has only played one Test match so far for India since his debut against Australia last year. He is also slated to play the Duleep Trophy, which gets underway from September 5. Recently, Yadav had expressed his desire to seal a spot in Indian Test team.
"There are a lot of people who have worked really hard to earn their place and even I want to earn that spot again. I made my debut for India in Tests. After that, I got injured as well. There were a lot of people who got an opportunity and have done well too. They deserve that opportunity right now," Suryakumar Yadav had said as quoted by ICC.
