In a massively crucial series ahead of their upcoming assignments, India are gearing up to take on Bangladesh in the first Test match of the two-match series, starting on Thursday in Chennai. The hotly-anticipated series comes at a time when India are eying a place in the World Test Championship final. India have a remarkably talented squad, with the likes of Virat Kohli, skipper Rohit Sharma, R Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja and Shubman Gill

Rishabh Pant will return to team India in the longest format for the first time since surviving the life-threatening car crash accident in December 2022. Recently, he made his return to the white-ball format, playing the T20I World Cup 2024 for India. Batting maestro Virat Kohli will also make his comeback, having missed the five-match Test series against England earlier this year due to personal reasons. 

Bangladesh, on the other hand, will enter the series on the back of a resounding success against Pakistan in their last Test series recently, clinching the historic 2-0 series win. All players are brimmed with confidence, having put Pakistan on the ropes.
