Pakistan name squad for first Test against England

Pakistan have named a 15-player squad for the first Test match against England beginning on October 7 in Multan. Shan Masood will be captaining Pakistan in the first Test match of their three-match series against England. Saud Shakeel will be the deputy to Shan Masood. 

Fast bowler Aamer Jamal has been included in the squad while Khurram Shahzad will be missing out, having failed to make complete recovery from an injury. Aamer Jamal couldn’t play Bangladesh Test due to injury but he is now set to play the first Test against England. 

Noman Ali has been included into the squad as a second spinner alongside Abrar Ahmed. Noman Ali last played for Pakistan in a Test in 2023. Pakistan will enter this series under tremendous pressure. having recently suffered a 0-2 series defeat against Bangladesh.

Pakistan Squad: Shan Masood (capt), Saud Shakeel (vice-capt), Aamer Jamal, Abdullah Shafique, Abrar Ahmed, Babar Azam, Mir Hamza, Mohammad Huraira, Mohammad Rizwan (wk), Naseem Shah, Noman Ali, Saim Ayub, Salman Ali Agha, Sarfaraz Ahmed (wk), Shaheen Shah Afridi.
