West Indies’ volatile all-rounder Dwayne Bravo has announced his retirement from all forms of cricket, marking the end of an era for West Indies cricket. With charismatic presence, and exceptional all-round capabilities, Bravo finishes as the leading wicket-taker in T20 history. Bravo retired from international cricket in 2021. Ahead of the CPL 2024, Bravo had announced that it will be his last. Last year, Bravo called time on his IPL career as well.

"Twenty-one years as a professional cricketer - it's been an incredible journey, filled with many highs and a few lows. Most importantly, I was able to live my dream because I gave you 100 [per cent] at every step. As much as I'd love to continue this relationship, it's time to face reality.”

"My mind wants to keep going, but my body can no longer endure the pain, the breakdowns, and the strain. I can't put myself in a position where I might let down my teammates, my fans, or the teams I represent,” Bravo said in a post on Instagram.

"So, with a heavy heart, I officially announce my retirement from the sport. Today, the Champion bids farewell."

In his massively successful career, Bravo won the titles in the IPL, PSL and Big Bash League. Over the last one year, Bravo has been involved in coaching duties, working with Chenani Super Kings at the IPL and also worked with Afghanistan team as a bowling consultant at the T20I World Cup.
