In a landmark achievement for Indian veteran allrounder Ravindra Jadeja, he reached his 300th Test wicket during India’s ongoing second Test against Bangladesh in Kanpur. This milestone further cemented Jadeja’s status as one of the game’s greats. Jadeja reached the milestone by claiming the wicket of Bangladesh player Khaled Ahmed.

He became the only third Indian player after Kapil Dev and Ravichandaran Ashwin with the double of scoring 3000-plus runs and claiming 300-plus wickets in the longest format. With the remarkable milestone, Jadeja became the faster player from the country to reach the milestone. Jadeja became the fastest Indian as he has taken fewer games than Kapil Dev and R Ashwin to reach this achievement. He did it in his 73rd Test match.

Overall, Jadeja is the second fastest player, in terms of matches, to reach this landmark after England legend Ian Botham (72nd). Jadeja is the seventh Indian player to claim 300 Test wickets. The other Indian players to have done so are Anil Kumble (619), R Ashwin (524), Kapil Dev (434), Harbhajan Singh (417), Ishant Sharma (311) and Zaheer Khan (311)
